Our Purpose

The East Hampton Historical Farm Museum is a living, interactive farm experience and cultural museum. We seek to deepen the community's understanding of the lifestyles of local citizens from the 1880s through the 1930s. These residents were farmers, baymen, craftsmen, and skilled laborers.

Discover The East Hampton Historical Farm Museum

Our museum offers a fascinating journey through time and space, featuring exhibits of a family home and historical artifacts from their daily life; community events held to bring locals together and celebrate our town’s history; and our beautiful grounds open to the public to explore.  Plan your visit today!

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at info@ehhistoricalfarmmuseum.org if you cannot find an answer to your question.

East Hampton Historical Farm Museum is a museum dedicated to the history and culture of our town and its agricultural roots. We have exhibits featuring artifacts, art, and interactive displays that tell the story of our community.

We have a variety of special events throughout the year, including lectures, workshops, and family-friendly programs. Check our website or sign up for our newsletter to stay up-to-date on upcoming events.

The term "Bonacker" comes from the Accabonac Harbor, derived from a Montaukett word for "ground nuts" (potatoes). For centuries, Bonackers have made their living as baymen, fishermen, and farmers, relying heavily on the sea and land for their sustenance. Clamming and fishing were central to their culture and cuisine. Many Bonac families are descendants of 17th-century English settlers who first came to East Hampton.
