My name is Dana Lester and I'm a 12th-generation native to East Hampton. My family roots run deep and my current home is even on property that has been in my family for generations. I feel the Farm Museum is a very important piece of our town to not only bring our locals together for community events but also to show newcomers how we have lived and evolved through the years. Everyone is welcome!

As a 10th-generation East Hampton native (Bonacker) the town holds a special place in my heart. My great grandmother was a Lester. Her father owned the Lester house that is now the museum. I enjoy sharing stories of my hometown with visitors who show an interest in the history, as well as hearing stories from other residents.

Born to Irish immigrant parents who grew up on farms just like those here in East Hampton in the late 1800s, Brian moved to Southampton in 1957. He graduated from Southampton High, and attended Manhattan College for Civil Engineering. Brian served In the Marine Corps for eight years on Active Duty, and twenty years in the Reserve; served in Vietnam, Desert Shield, and Desert Storm; and retired as Master Gunnery Sergeant. Brian later worked in municipal construction for Greenman Petersen Inc. and Newborn Construction Inc.

I grew up in Montclair New Jersey. I came to East Hampton at age 10 to an all-girls summer camp, Fireplace Lodge in Springs. My parents liked the area and moved to East Hampton in 1959. I moved here in 1968. My daughter Kristy was asked to attend the original planning meetings for the museum but could not attend so she sent me in her place. My first meeting was in May 2013 and I’m still here!

I am an enthusiastic supporter of my beautiful Town and its early settlers, as well as of those of us left who are close-knit and struggling...I have an MS in Guidance and Counseling and nearly a PhD in Educational Management. I come from 13 generations of farmers and fishermen.

Susan McGuirk grew up in East Hampton on her family compound. She married local and brought her children up here. For over 30 years she was the Media Specialist in Sag Harbor Elementary School. She has ties to early founding families in both East Hampton and Southampton towns. She has had an interest in local history since she was a youngster.

I first came to the East Hampton Historical Farm Museum three summers ago because of my love for history and ended up forming such a strong connection to the Farm Museum and the people who work tirelessly to keep it going that I’ve never wanted to leave. Growing through my teenage years here has helped me realize how important stories and traditions are, and I am proud to help document the lives of the Bonackers and keep their legacy alive.
